Seattle Children's Home
Seattle, WA

Seattle Children’s Home provides both resident and day treatment programs for emotionally disturbed children and young adults. Since 1962, Mandeville Berge Box has designed dormitories, a school, a clinical / administrative building, and a transitional young adult living unit. Due to the nature of the clients served, materials and methods must be designed for extremely hard use and abuse. Mandeville Berge Box also prepared a master plan for the campus and guided its approval by the city, including a complex process that included community meetings, the preparation of environmental impact documents, administrative conditional zoning requests, and street use permits.
