Duane H. Box, AIA, NCARB
Mr. Box has over forty years of experience as Partner and Project Manager at Mandeville Berge Box. As Project Manager and Design Architect he schedules each phase of a project, coordinating with structural, mechanical, electrical and all other necessary disciplines for a project. Mr. Box handles architectural administrative tasks, coordinates on-site review documentation of all existing conditions, and carries out reviews of all cost estimates, specifications, documents and building/design code compliance.
Mr. Box has extensive experience in the inspection of facilities for life safety, ADA requirements upgrade, fire protection, energy analysis, seismic analysis, lateral force studies, and recommendations for structural improvements. He has completed several life safety and utility upgrades to meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements.
Scott Baumler, AIA, LEED AP.
Mr. Baumler has over thirty years of experience in a wide variety of governmental and institutional projects through all phases of design, from conceptual through construction administration. The projects that Mr. Baumler has worked on have ranged from small alterations on existing buildings to large new high-rise mixed-use complexes. Mr. Baumler is a LEED Acredited Professional.
He has both educational and work experience in the preparation of urban design and planning studies. This backround has provided an in-depth knowledge of the current codes, including building, zoning, fire, health, energy, and barrier-free regulations. This variety of experience has also provided him with expertise in all types of construction, from wood frame to Type I concrete and steel, including state-of-the-art materials and systems. While working at Mandeville Berge Box, he has guided projects through complex environmental and design review processes involving several regulatory agencies and public hearings. He has directed staff and incorporated the input of consultants in the production of complete and coordinated contract documents. Prior to starting at Mandeville Berge Box, Mr. Baumler was employed as a Planner in the King County Planning Division. His responsibilities included reasearch, policy development, project review and interaction with the public. He has gained substantial knowledge from his extensive work within both the private and public sectors.
With his extensive field experience, he has been very valuable in construction related problem solving and analysis of alternative materials and equipment. He has been a member of value engineering review teams on over 10 public projects.
